Jesus on the Streets in Attleboro - December 10, 2022
Here is a report LYNN Ministries’ team from Evangelical Covenant Church, Attleboro who served in Attleboro on Saturday.
Saturday was a glorious, although cold, day to be out serving the Lord. It was a special day for our team to be serving, as it marked the one year anniversary of LYNN Ministries’ return to service in Attleboro, led by the Evangelical Covenant Church. It was also a special day as we celebrated Christmas with our friends and shared gifts of thermal socks, laundry cards, and Dunkin’ cards. We were able to serve clothing, boots/shoes, homemade baked goods, hot drinks, fruit, snacks and prayer to about 40 folks.
We could sense a feeling of worry as the temperatures are falling at night, and some of our friends are still living outside. If the temperature hits 26, they are able to get temporary housing, but 27 is still pretty cold.
Lloyd is still living outside, and waiting for the temps to get to 26, so he can get into a hotel room. Please pray for Lloyd.
Marie was in the hospital for a couple of days this week, as she had chest pain, and very high blood pressure. Prayers for her healing.
Ritchie stopped by. He is still saddened by Ronda’s passing, and needs prayer for his heart to be healed.
Our friend Bob was not home at his campsite, and we later found he was taken to the hospital. Bob needs prayers for healing and to get into a recovery program, which he desperately wants.
Russell was overjoyed that we had an extra pair of boots that fit him, as his boots were literally falling apart.
Johnny is struggling with his addiction to alcohol, but still found time to comfort his friends. He lost a room in a rooming house, because he opened it up to some who had no home. It is something that happens frequently with our friends. Fortunately, Johnny was able to get another room.
We found Eric and Carrie at their new home in the woods, but they told us they will be evicted in 2 days. Evicted from a tent in the woods, near a bridge, bothering no one. The good news is that they cannot be evicted without the city finding some temporary housing for them, so they will be in a warm place in a few days. They were overjoyed to see us again, and very thankful for all the clothes and other provisions provided to them by donations from ECC and LYNN Ministries. Please pray for Eric and Carrie, that they are able to overcome their addictions, and start the new life they so desperately want.
Thank you to all who serve this ministry in so many ways. You are making a difference in the lives of God’s children.
