Jesus on the Streets (yup, it rained) - July 2, 2023

This week’s weather report in Brockton, overcast with only a slight drizzle (but it still qualifies as rain). We served Mediterranean Chicken to 99 people and had a wonderful day with our friends on the streets.

One of our volunteers had an interesting observation today. We know a lot of our friends are not angels. Living on the streets is difficult and they’re often placed in positions where they feel the need to make the wrong choice. But with us, for 60-90 minutes each week they get to be a better version of themselves, kind to others vulnerable about their struggles, being polite and not cussing. LYNN Ministries believes our friends have it backwards and these moments are when our friends reveal their true identities, and it’s their behavior on the streets that is the facade.

We had many prayer requests so here goes:

- Lynne is 73 and an alcoholic but is hoping to get into the Champion Plan for recovery.

- Irene is so happy that her neck pain is gone and is praying for a clean bill of health from her cancer biopsy on the 12th.

- Robert feels like he’s not getting any help from the hospital and now someone stole his shopping cart.

- Marie wants prayers for her brother Jean who has cancer, she’s feeling disconnected from God, and is hoping she’s where God wants her to be.

- Berlin has been taking classes to get a job.

- Charmaine needs a place to live and out of the shelter

- Brandon needs a place to live and hopes his stolen things are returned.

- Elizabeth wants prayers for her son Jacob and for her parents and is hoping that new people in her life treat her nicely.

- Sammy has been sober for 42 days! He’s doing his best to stay away from people looking to cause trouble.

Thank you all so much for making this ministry possible!
