Jesus on the Streets (with The Fellowship) - July 17, 2022

Here’s a report from our team at The Fellowship who led LYNN Ministries on Sunday in Brockton.

Sunday was much calmer this month compared to last. This time we spent time listening, talking, serving, and praying with the people we serve. We served 77 meals of macaroni salad and people were pleased to get a cold meal on a hot day. We are always impressed with how our serve team is accepted and how thankful our friends are to visit with us and then recognize the presence of Jesus in their requests for prayer.

As we have noted in past updates each drive into the city brings something new, never the same.

On Sunday afternoon we went into streets and parks of the city and the medical people with us tended to wounds, breathing issues, and we talked with one person who had what was thought to be shingles. At our first stop, Pastor Roberto’s church, team members noticed several people with bruises and battle scars – visual reminders of the challenges of life on the streets. We also had several meaningful conversations at both our stops, and there was some powerful time of prayer with friends. We prayed with Christina for victory over her addiction and for a safe place for her and her fiancé Rynnard to live. We prayed over Janelle who is 5 months pregnant and living in a tent. We prayed for Donald and his wife Cheryl who had their car totaled in an accident this week. Both Donald and his wife are okay, but the cost to replace the car is out of reach for Donald. We were blessed by the kindness of Aquila who came to get a meal. She is dealing with joint pain related to Shingles and we pray for relief for this dynamic warrior for Jesus. One of our team members also prayed with a young woman who was struggling with hallucinations and other troubling visions. She became quite emotional in prayer. Please pray for delivery from the evil that so wants to trap and weigh her down.

We ended the day with an encouraging group chat with a new friend, Kemend, who we met behind the library. Kemend is a Christ follower who really wanted to talk with us about scripture. It was time well spent!

Thank you to all those who pray for and support LYNN Ministries!
