Jesus on the Streets (PMC Weekend) - August 6, 2023

Today was a busy day as Deb was riding for charity in the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC), I was on her support team, and LYNN Ministries had a super busy day. Here is the report from our team. It was a beautiful sunny and warm day in Brockton. Just when the sun started to get intense a breeze would refresh us.

120 + guests came in a steady stream. There was a lovely flow making it easy to serve and connect with a lot of folks without the rush we sometimes experience. The Team felt very blessed by the rhythm of the day. We were able to talk and pray with a lot of people.

  • Chris’ friend Theresa needs help with addiction

  • Bob needs housing

  • Mary needs prayers for her family, finances, and a better place to live

  • Jake his lack of friends

  • BP’s mom is in prison

  • Keri’s health

  • Charlie’s wife Linda needs surgery

  • Kshawn’s children were in a bad car accident and need prayers

  • Rodney prays that family and friends come to know Christ

  • Sal is hoping for better housing

  • Elizabeth and Peter are praying for housing and health

  • Chris needs housing and a job

  • Nickie’s family needs peace

  • Maria needs protection from an abusive partner and survival on the streets

  • Sammy is thankful for his sobriety

  • Dan needs God’s power to heal him from hepatitis and liver failure

  • Rhonda needs to make good decisions and an improved situation

  • Miriam is new to the streets and was robbed last night and now has nothing

Our friends were particularly appreciative and we all noticed that overall folks were in a good mood. Even those who have many worries on their minds and sorrows in their hearts seemed to be seeing the glass half-full and looking to the future with hope. I love it when the roles of who is serving who gets blurred and we all touch each other with God’s grace. Today was one of those days.
