Jesus on the Streets (in Attleboro) - August 12, 2023

Here is a report from LYNN Ministries team at Evangelical Covenant Church, Attleboro who served in Attleboro today.

We had a great team today in Attleboro with 11 helpers. Plus, we were blessed with Judy, Pat and Drew who were with us to bring reading glasses to those who need it. They were able to give out quite a few pairs today.

We served a number of first time guests, a high school student and a brand new family. Mom‘s name was Naomi and her husband and their two children who are four and 18 months old. They are new to the country and still struggling with the language barrier. They are definitely looking for some resources to try to help them navigate this area of the country.

We also met Brett who found us by accident and would love some prayers for his job interviews on Monday and Wednesday this week. He is in a sober house and doing really well and heading out on a retreat this weekend with his housemates.

Bob is also doing well and his wounds have healed and is still sober

It was good to see Jim and his teeth extractions went well and his wounds are healing, and he is still sober and doing well. He is in his own apartment and keeping away from those who tend to take him down the wrong path and he has a brand new granddaughter, who was born just two days ago on his dad‘s birthday.

Robin asked for prayers for an upgrade to her housing and her financial situation. She was also really struggling with her eyesight today.

Tami has been sober for almost 2 years and has been now volunteering at the Food N friends kitchen. She asked for prayers for her husband who’s got some anger issues.

Shawn has a job starting on Monday at the registry of motor vehicle and is also living a sober house and he’s getting help dealing with his anger issues.

We had a wonderful visit with Kerry and Eric. I noticed a significant difference from last month when we visited. Eric has been able to get into a methadone clinic and find a counselor to work with. They are both doing well with their meds and is now actually starting to look for a job. They have also asked for a new tent and more hygiene supplies. They are incredibly grateful for the gifts that they have received for the past year and ask for prayers for their family situation with Kerry‘s children.

We are so thankful for our team in Attleboro and for all the support we receive to keep this ministry running.
