Jesus on the Streets (on a beautiful day) - August 13, 2023

It was a beautiful but busy day in Brockton today as we served 125 meals of Mozambique chicken and met more people than that. Many of our friends were riled up today for a variety of reasons, including a major police crackdown yesterday that arrested over 35 people, many of whom may be dealers. In addition there has been an influx of at least 20 Haitian refugees roaming the streets with all their possessions in suitcases and are seemingly lost. It’s a tragic situation.

Here are sone of the prayer requests:

- Stephen is asking for safe travels as he moves back to his hometown of Springfield.

- Matthew is praying for safety and a job.

- Chris is thankful for his apartment and for seeing his kids this past week.

- Kenney had his ID stolen and his bank account emptied. He’s living outside and is praying for things to get better.

- Jean is trying to do good in Brockton.

- Sammy is 85 days sober. Woohoo!

- Andrea and Bobby were both beaten up, claiming they were minding their own business. (We love them both but this is a recurring theme.)

- George asked for an extra meal for a friend living under a bridge. (He has been getting more engaged in helping us reach those in desperate need.)

- Dave was really strung out and feeling ashamed. He needs prayer.

- We learned that Victor, whom we served on the streets for years, is graduating from Teen Challenge and being ordained to ministry by his church. Woo hoo!

It was a weird but wonderful day and we thank you for your support!
