Jesus on the Streets (on another cold, raw day) - December 26, 2021
Today was cold and raw serving 73 meals in Brockton. It had a weird, subdued vibe that could have been sadness, or something else, but the whole team felt it. More people than usual refused prayer, which made us sad. Holidays are really hard on the homeless.
Kenny was happy to be walking without his knee brace. Patrick is still praying that his mom’s medication starts working. Darren is hoping to discover God’s plan for him in the shelter. Susan has a broken finger and a bum knee. Jonathan is happy his prosthetic arrived and is being fitted.
We know we were doing Jesus’ work but it was weird to feel sad after serving. That was our last serving day of 2021 and it’s been quite a year. We’re praying 2022 is better and we’ll be out in Attleboro on New Years Day.
