Jesus on the Streets (on a beautiful day) - October 8, 2023
It was a beautiful day in Brockton on Sunday as we served 115 meals of chicken and rice casserole to our friends on the street. We had a new person out with us, Mary, and she was a champ!
People were in a pretty good mood although there were a few outbursts of bad language. There were also some really moving times of prayer.
- Patrick is trying to get settled in for the winter.
- Donna (Rocky) is so happy to be in a new apartment of her own. It’s quiet and clean and she is rightfully proud of the progress she’s made over the past several years.
- Bobby and Andrea are afraid as the streets are getting more dangerous. As winter approaches they are hoping for an apartment so they can avoid sleeping under the bridge over the river for another year.
- Michelle is asking for prayers for her mother Joan who is 92 and hoping to get out of rehab after a fall.
- Glenn is praying for his family. He’s trying to get clean and wanted a Bible to read. (Funny, all we had were Spanish and Portuguese bibles. Oops. We gave him the New Testament in English and will follow up next week with the full Bible.)
- Donald is hoping for a new studio apartment at Father Bills in Quincy.
- Pauline is asking for prayers for her Parkinson’s disease.
- Chris is so happy as his daughter had a baby boy so now he’s a grandpa!
- Sal claims that our team is Jesus’ little Munchkins. Maybe he’s right?
- Francisco is praying that the doctors would be able to heal his hernia
- Mina is asking for prayers for her son who is in prison
Thank you all so much for helping us do what we love!
