Jesus on the Streets (on a beautiful day) - October 24, 2021

It was a beautiful fall day in Brockton, as we served 90 meals of stuffed peppers across 2 locations. People are getting nervous as the cold weather is moving in and COVID cases are rising in the shelter. It could be another rough winter for the homeless.

There was an air of desperation to many of the prayers this week but also some joy. John lost his job at Fenway Park when the Red Sox were knocked out of the playoffs. He’s hoping for unemployment while he looks for another job. Burt is praying for an apartment. Patrick is worried about his mom having COVID, which also delayed his father’s funeral. Robert was thrilled that Debbie tracked down his brother (many years of absence) and is hoping they can connect soon. Ritchie is feeling on edge and angry and is hoping to stay kind to others. Tony has hip surgery scheduled for late December. Vincent has had no water in his apartment for 3 days because a pipe burst and the landlord hasn’t fixed it yet. Anthony is one week away from 4 months sober but is not sleeping well and very much worried he’ll stumble. Donna is having lots of seizures and hoping some upcoming medical tests will show what’s going on. Jacinto is asking for prayers for his daughter and his homeless friends. Clayton is living in his car and “hanging on by a thread” and very much in need of prayer. Michelle sang to us!

Thank you all for your prayers and your concern for our friends on the street.
