Jesus on the Streets (on a beautiful day) - May 7, 2023
Wow! 130 meals served in Brockton on a beautiful sunny day. We were absolutely overwhelmed at Pastor Roberto’s where we served over 100 people, all of whom were emotionally on edge.
An important homeless ministry shut down last month and there are now fewer resources available to sustain more people in need. A key apartment building is being condemned to clean for mold and rodents. People are asking for tents and clothes, so many requests. (We are now distributing more tents than during the pandemic and it’s becoming a major expense.) Our friends are feeling desperate, tempers are high, nerves are frayed, and people are struggling. Needless to say it was a great time for God to show up, and He did in so many ways.
We had very few times for prayer but here’s what we have.
- Therese is praying that her ID arrives in the mail so she can get housing
- Tre is thankful for the tent we provided and is worried about his 6 month old son.
- Richelle is thankful to be out of the shelter and the safety of her 8 year old son.
- Donald and Cheryl are being forced to move to a new building.
- Christine and James are praying for a tent and safety.
- Sabrina is praying for strength and sobriety.
- Simon is thankful for receiving a cane, clothes, and a crucifix.
- William is praying for housing.
- Swindelo is heart broken because his 5 year old daughter died of heart failure this week.
- Sammy is praying for sobriety.
- Troia is homeless and new to the streets, feeling totally lost.
Thank you all so much for listening, praying, and helping us to love the lost and broken hearted.
