Jesus on the Streets of Attleboro (on a cold day) - February 5, 2022

Saturday was a very cold day in Attleboro, where a team of 10 volunteers from Evangelical Covenant Church, Attleboro had our hearts warmed by the people we were blessed to serve. We served hot drinks, homemade baked goods, snacks, clothes, and most importantly prayer to about 25-30 folks in need.

We are praying for quite a number of individuals, first our friend of 9+ years in Attleboro, Mike, who is living outside in the elements. Mike has not showed up to any of the soup kitchens in at least 2 weeks, and concern for his safety is high. Please pray for him. Eric asked for prayers for his nerve damage and his health. He has lost a large amount of weight and is in constant pain. Please pray for his general well-being and his mental health as well. Everyone that spoke with Eric was touched by his humble heart and kind attitude, knowing the suffering he is going through.

Patrick was sober and gave thanks for his health. He also asked for prayers for his (and our) friend Ronda, who is battling cancer. Ronda has served with us for several years now. Cheryl was happy to receive her special order of sneakers, and asked for prayers for her brother Michael who is dying of cancer, maybe only a week left, for his daughter as well and also for heat, as she has electric heat and it's so expensive that she has barely turned it on this season. Shep gives praise that the boots he received from LYNN Ministries are amazing. (He had received another pair and the minute he put them on they broke.) Edith asks for prayers for her neck issues. Linda asked for prayers for her friend Cathy’s shoulder surgery, and she is also worried about her blood sugar levels. Dino gave thanks for our donations, and gave us back 2 bags of his own.

Jim was thankful we had some gloves for him because his were wet. He asked that we pray for his friend Charlie who fell and hit his head and is now in a rehab but too far for him to go visit. He is able to speak with him on the phone, but he's hard of hearing so it's difficult. He misses being able to go for coffee with his friend and hopes that he returns home soon and has a fast recovery. Larry said he could feel the love, and that he would be praying for Ronda and her treatment, as they are old friends. He also mentioned he has a sunflower allergy and has to be careful of what he eats so he doesn't have a reaction and use his epipen. Hernan didn't ask for prayers, because his primary language was Spanish. We are adding him here, and asking for prayer that he will be led to people who can assist him with his needs and communicate properly with him.

James is about to celebrate one year sober. Praise the Lord! He is so thankful that without drinking he now has his relationship with his brother back and his relationship with his daughter is improving as well. He told us how his brother is also sober with 13 years and he is so thankful that his daughter has never had issues with drinking. Sean asked for prayer for his knee and other medical issues. He is also trying to find steady work. We have been serving Lloyd in Attleboro for a few years, and he is still struggling to make ends meet. He is sleeping on someone’s couch now, but has been outside in the past, and is worried about ending up there soon. He asks for prayer for a stable living situation.

Thank you to the team and all of your prayer and support for this life giving ministry!
