Jesus on the Streets of Attleboro (on a beautiful day) - July 9, 2022

Here’s a report from our team at Evangelical Covenant Church, Attleboro who served about 45 people in Attleboro on Saturday.

It was a beautiful and joyous day to serve in Attleboro, until we got some somber news at the very end of the day. Our friend Carlos Eriverto Esteban Ramirez, passed away suddenly at the age of 52. We had met Carlos and some of his brothers 5-6 years ago, after they emigrated from Guatemala in search of a better life. Carlos was a hard-working and kind man, who was always smiling, and sent money home to his family. You may remember from a few months ago, asking for prayers for Carlos, as he had worked doing a construction job to earn $2,500, and was never paid. Please pray for his family.

Here are some other friends, who need prayer – Robin, who is in hospice care for lung cancer, wants prayer for her children and grandchildren. Ted was thankful for everything that he received from LYNN Ministries, he said we had exactly what he needed. Lloyd was struggling today, but was overjoyed to receive a new pair of sneakers. He would like to enter a rehab program, so we offer prayers for that to happen. Our longtime friend Fred, who is trying to move to Maine wanted to say thank you, and say Hi to Deb and Jeep. Mike who has a cataract in one eye, is living outside, but had his campsite burned. He lost his bicycle trailer, and some other belongings. Tim told us that our friend Steve had passed suddenly a few months ago, which we knew about. Steve was a veteran, who had been wheel-chair bound for many years and had to have his feet amputated. He was one of the first people we met when we started serving in Attleboro. We saw him with Tim, struggling to cross the street in his wheel-chair so Deb stopped the truck and made Jeep see how we might help. Jeep said, “we’ve got some hot food that we’d like to give to someone in need. Could you tell us where to look?” And Tim and Steve said, “Yeah, us!” That was the start of our friendship. Tim was thankful for everyone’s prayers last December, as his eye surgery went well. Linda would like prayer for her blood sugar and weight. Marie was grateful for all she received, and for the help for her nephew. Our longtime friend Bob looked great today (he’s been trying to stop drinking), and was excited for a lunch with his sisters and mother. He rarely gets to see family, and lives outside, so he was very thankful, and hopes to make some changes in his life. Loretta would like prayers for her friend Norman, who is in the hospital. Lillian is hoping that doors will finish opening for her, and she will be able to relocate to PA. Jim was sad that his friend Charlie passed away after hitting his head a year ago. He would like prayers for Charlie’s family. Ms. LeBlanc’s sister-in-law passed a few days ago, and she would like prayers for the family.

We visited a new campsite in the woods for the 2nd time, and there was someone living there, but they did not want to engage. We left them a note of who we are, and as much fruit and baked goods as we could. There was a lot of sadness among the ministry volunteers to learn about Carlos, who had an infectious smile, and positivity about him, despite his unmet needs.

Thank you to all that support LYNN Ministries as it serves more people in more locations.
