Jesus on the Streets (on a beautiful day) - July 3, 2022

It was a beautiful day in Brockton where we served 70 meals of Amish chicken casserole to our friends on the street. We had 2 new people serving with us, which was nice. Pastor Roberto joined us for a while and it was great to catch up with him.

It was a quieter day than normal as people seemed to be off enjoying the day and not crowded into the park where the drug dealers hangout. The only excitement (in a negative sense) came from Christina who was so well-behaved today until some outsiders decided to taunt her, which sent her over the edge (mentally) and resulted in a lot of cuss words. It’s so sad.

At Pastor Roberto’s, prayer requests include Wilfredo (just prayer), Rashawn (has a lot on his mind), James (wants to be a better reader but the words get mixed up). Tracy asked for prayers for her boyfriend Anthony who was diagnosed with throat cancer (this is devastating as Anthony is such a man of God and a blessing to us). Devon is hoping people stay safe tomorrow. John told us that Chuck has been stuck in his tent and is too sick to move and that he has cancer but he hasn’t been to the hospital. Hector prays that no one gets killled tomorrow (4th of July). John Joseph (named after 2 great men in the Bible) was pretty sure that I picked him up in my car last week to go do a drug deal. (I guess I have a doppelgänger that lives on the dark side.) Anyway, John’s mom died last year and he’s worried she’s stuck in purgatory. Also he really does want to quit drugs and smoking but has failed so far. Anthony (my buddy) has had a good, peaceful week.

At the Library, Edgar was tripping on crack but was pleasant to us. Sammy was in a really good state of mind. Bobby and Andrea are doing well but Bobby doesn’t know how he’s going to raise the money for Andrea’s rent (she’s pregnant). Olavo is sleeping outside and hoping for better. He needed a hat, I gave him the one I was wearing, which had a lot of memories attached to it. I admit that God had to prompt me a couple times before I gave him that hat, which reminds me just how petty and selfish I really am. It’s not a good look for a ministry leader and I’m kind of ashamed. (For me, giving things of financial value has never been as difficult as giving things of emotional value.)

Thank you all so much for your continued support of LYNN Ministries. Your generosity, love, and kindness is always acknowledged by our friends on the street. Happy 4th of July!
