Jesus on the Streets of Attleboro - March 11, 2023
Here’s an update from the Evangelical Covenant Church, Attleboro team that served on behalf of LYNN Ministries in Attleboro on Saturday.
The weather was cold, with wind, rain, sleet, and snow at different times, but we were able to serve about 30 folks with clothing, toiletries, hot drinks, home baked goods, fruit, snacks, prayer, and encouragement.
Our friend Linda is suffering from the effects of diabetes, lower back pain, and knee pain. We pray for her healing.
Willy was in the hospital for 5 days this week, due to blood pressure issues. The doctors didn’t seem to have a clear plan for him, other than continued medication. He seemed scared, please pray for Willy’s healing.
Lloyd who many of you have prayed for, currently does have housing, at least temporarily. He is still struggling with his drinking, and asks for continued prayers.
Eric and Carrie (Keri) are outside again, living in the woods. They did have some temporary housing for a couple of weeks, which was supposed to turn into more permanent housing, but that did not happen. Please pray for them to get housing, and continue to work on their addictions.
Even the little amount of snow/sleet/rain we had on Friday night and Saturday morning, combined with the cold, causes a lot of pain and despair for those living outside. They were glad to see us, and get the clothes, food, and provisions that we could provide.
We were thinking of our friend Tim B., who is in hospice care. We met Tim 10-11 years ago in Attleboro, when we first started serving there. He introduced us to another friend Steve (who is no longer with us) and helped us find other folks living outside, and connect with many in Attleboro. We pray for Tim’s comfort.
Thanks to all who give so generously to this ministry in so many ways: Prayer, cooking, financial, donations of clothes, winter coats, sleeping bags, hand made blankets, serving outside. All of your help is felt by those who need it, and appreciated by Him. Thank You!
