Jesus on the Streets (in the sunshine) - May 23, 2021

It was a really good day in Brockton where we served 96 meals across 4 locations…and it was sunny (and 90 deg). Today’s menu was Sloppy Joe’s and veggies along with home-baked goods, snacks, and fresh fruit. Considering how hot it was, people were very well behaved.

Some of the highlights: it was Marta’s birthday so we sang to her. Mike in the woods was in his tent but still doesn’t look well. Manuel asked for prayers to help overcome his alcohol addiction. Kimberly is worried about her dog Chase. Tina has been homeless since last year when her autistic son started a fire that burned down their apartment. Jay was thrown out of his sober house because he got high. Jeanette is feeling hopeless as she sleeps on the streets. Lisa is struggling with low self esteem. Donna is heartbroken because her dog (Blue) died yesterday after a 4 year battle with cancer. Betty and Nando asked for prayers for her cousin Joe who has colon cancer. Bobby and Louis (uses a colostomy bag) are sleeping in the park under a torn canopy (with blankets for sides).

As it gets warmer it’s getting rougher out on the streets. Thank you for helping us be Jesus’ hands and feet on the streets.
