Jesus on the Streets (in the rain again) - May 30, 2021
Today in Brockton we had 46 deg and rain, again. We served 73 meals of chicken, rice pilaf, and peas casserole (at least that’s what we call it). Our friends were psyched to get a hot, healthy meal along with fresh fruit and home baked goods. The weather kept many of our friends indoors, in tents, or under bridges but we tracked them down and loved them well.
Prayer requests for this week: Marta was in a car accident and needs her car repaired. Robert is remembering our fallen veterans as well as all the family that he has lost. Kathy was in a house fire started by a heroin user, and although she helped save 5 people, one person died and she’s now in the homeless shelter. Lisa continues to wrestle with self-esteem (her spirit has been beaten down by the streets). Bee is off to Cape Verde to see his family. Lisa (another Lisa) is cheering for the Red Sox. Bobby needs to need God more than alcohol.
We were really cold by the time we were done but our hearts were warm. We hope you too are warm and dry and that the Holy Spirit is with you all. Have a meaningful Memorial Day!
