Jesus on the Streets (in the sunshine) - June 12, 2022
It was a beautiful (but crazy) day in Brockton where we served 107 meals of Buffalo chicken casserole to our friends on the street. We only had a team of 6, just me and a lot of estrogen, but we managed. There were so many people waiting for prayer, or even just to talk, that lots of times the serving line slowed to a crawl. But our friends were patient and allowed us to minister to everyone in need. Unfortunately, the craziness in the park next door has escalated further. We don’t recognize a lot of the people there (not sure if they’re local or transient) but the erratic behavior, arguments, and foul language has climbed noticeably. That said, they are well behaved when they come to us for a meal.
There were so many prayer requests, and here are a few. Alfredo is praying that things would be better in Brockton. Mo wants better for his friends. Junior was asking for prayers for LYNN Ministries. (We haven’t seen him in several weeks.) Rashawn prays for his cousin Tremelle. Chris’ mom passed away and is asking for a healthier heart and soul. Tony is asking for humility in his walk with God. Ritchie (Blue Eyes) is entering rehab (yay!). Ashley would not accept prayer but needs it. Mina is praying to have Satan’s chains broken and for her son Devonte to be safe and free. Moyo is on the streets, in a wheel chair, with a colostomy bag. Jon and Jennifer are asking to receive the Fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23). Will needs a new home. Anthony had another seizure and cut his head open when he fell. Khashif prayed for me jast week and had a great week (75% good) and so wanted to pray for me and LYNN Ministrues again. Devon hopes to work with animals. Kevin is still sober. Bobby is upset because someone stole his bike and his good friend Jungi died in the hospital. (This is very sad news for us, as we’ve known Jungi for almost 10 years.) We missed seeing Donna this week. As the weather continues to get warmer, life on the streets seems to get harder, which seems like a paradox but the issues are real.
Thank you to all who love and support this ministry.
