Jesus on the Streets (in the sunshine) - June 18, 2022

What a beautifully crazy day in Brockton, where the youth group from Durham Evangelical Church joined us serving 99 meals, along with clothes and toiletries, across 4 locations. We were also joined by our friend Drew giving out reading glasses. It was go-go-go all day as at least 120 people were blessed in some way. The first stop was the busiest (as always) and we feared we might run out of food but God had a plan and we made it with just enough.

At the first stop Isaiah and I walked through the park to remind people where to find us and there was some bad behavior going on (sorry Isaiah). Meanwhile Sabrina was tripping (literally) back with the serving team. The second stop was just a lot of laughs (and a little physical therapy on Bobby’s shoulder) until a guy came to us with trashed feet because his shoes were too small. The third stop was pretty quiet until an argument down the street started to go bad and we decided it was time to leave. The final stop was marked by Marcy who finds herself alone on the streets and not having a group to protect her.

There was a lot of prayer throughout the day. Here are a few of them. Patrick’s birthday was yesterday (we’ll bring him a cupcake tomorrow). Rashawn is spending more time just hanging around us and asks for wisdom. Anthony is struggling with no sleep because his neighbors are partying all night. Randy wants prayers for Maggie who’s in the hospital. Steve is thankful that he got housing and his CDL so he can get a job driving trucks. Michelle is still struggling with some form of infection and her beautiful voice is now raspy. Carlos is so thankful for sneakers that fit. Jeremy completed Teen Challenge and wants to get clean again. Steve is out of the hospital but looks emaciated. Guillo wants to get out of his building to a place with less bad stuff going on. John has really bad feet and needs prayer. Marcy needs prayer for protection and housing.

Thank you so much to DEC and all our supporters who allow us to do this important work!
