Jesus on the Streets (on a cool day) - June 19, 2022
It was a cool day in Brockton on Father’s Day, with just a bit of rain, as we served 93 meals across two locations. Our daughter, Erika, joined us along with Brant, a friend from her work. The weather had everyone more quiet than Saturday but we were excited to celebrate Patrick’s birthday with a song and cupcakes. We wished all the fathers a wonderful day.
The prayers include Junior, for going into detox. Donna for figuring out how to keep her scooter safe. Ann, to have a good day and survive the challenges she’s facing. Chris got to see his 12 year old daughter perform in a play. Tim and Danielle for safety in the streets. Bob continues to wrestle with the need to be sober in the shelter and his desire for freedom from other people’s rules. Jessica is asking her family to section her (legally force her into rehab). Rashawn is asking for wisdom. Sarah is outside and in really cad shape but would only take an extra blanket we had. Charlie lives in the woods, and he cracked his ribs and is trying to keep the raccoons out of his food. The Dunkin’ crew was being led by Ja’chelle and Pyra and took care of us at end of day.
We were sad that Ritchie (Blue Eyes) didn’t enter rehab as planned, and that Jeremy didn’t come to make a plan for rehab.
Thank you all and Happy Father’s Day!
