Jesus on the Streets (in the rain, again) - September 24, 2023
It was another rainy Sunday in Brockton as we served 102 meals of Buffalo chicken and chicken piccata and we ran out of food. We served friends new and old and had a wonderful time praying in the rain. “Foul weather builds fair friends.”
There were a number of prayer requests:
- Our friend Will asked for God to bless him but I would ask for prayer his state of mind as well because he seemed out of sorts.
- Eldred is praying for work.
- Kathy is praying for housing to come quickly
- Jacquelin is praying her apartment comes through in the next 2 weeks
- Teri (a dear friend) has moved into a new apartment and is doing well
- Patrick is praying for God’s help in getting better (alcohol). He is like so many we know on the streets who have lost family and friends and struggle for months or years to deal with their grief and have a limited support network.
- Francisco is praying for healing of a hernia and for his family.
- Dwayne needs healing for his thumb and his mother has cancer.
- Richelle continues to pray for her son Noah who was in an accident.
- Junior is praying to experience God’s presence more.
- George is mourning the death of his friend (91 years old with pneumonia followed by COVID). He is fearful about his aneurysm diagnosis and needs prayers of healing and strength.
- Terry has had a very difficult life and is asking for prayers for his extended family.
I sometimes wonder if the little thank you we offer with each of these posts properly expresses the depth of our gratitude for your prayers and support. None of what we do is possible without you. May God bless you all this week.
