Jesus on the Streets (in the pouring rain) - March 19, 2022
Today (1st day of double-header weekend) started and ended in pouring rain in Brockton where we served 64 meals of stuffed pepper soup and chicken-potato goulash. We had 3 new team members with us and it was an interesting day as noted in the prayer section.
Stu was one of the first to arrive in his reflective vest, really friendly guy and just wanted to say thank you. Robert was right behind Stu with a reindeer magazine rack in his canning cart. He gave the reindeer to a single mom who is Will’s neighbor. (Will is so excited to give it to her.) Michelle is heartbroken because her boyfriend killed someone and she wonders if she could have somehow prevented it. John is concerned for his girlfriend because her sister was murdered this past week. Chris seemed really low, missing his daughters, and he wouldn’t accept any food or prayer (unusual for him) but just seemed to want to be around us. Jonathan is excited that he’s getting an apartment and a new prosthetic leg. Kevin is praying that his girlfriend Jillian can get off drugs. Joseph came by to celebrate he now has 2 jobs and a room to live in. Stretch and some friends we hiding under a bridge doing some bad stuff (we’re praying for them). Melissa was excited to see us and celebrate because we gave her an Empowerment Plan coat in the fall and she slept in it all winter. (She’s now doing volunteer home health aid work.) Charlotte was excited that we had new books for her to read. Tom is in the hospital and we’re very worried for him. David is worried about his mom going to nursing home. Christina is just out of the hospital and seems to be back on her meds and she was polite to us. There are many more that aren’t listed here that also need your prayers.
Thank you all for supporting those we serve on the streets, both financially and more importantly through your prayers!
