Jesus on the Streets - April 28, 2023
Wow! What a day serving in Brockton where we delivered 117 meals, along with fruit and home baked goods, across three locations. More important than the provisions were the number of prayers provided. We had a team of 7 from Church of Emmanuel and South Shore Community Church. David was today’s prayer warrior, with Deb and I floating around helping wherever needed (prayers, special requests, celebration leader, gopher, etc.) and the rest of the team (Joanne, Michael, Monica, and Brian) was working like clockwork.
We had moments of drama but, in general, everyone was well-behaved and respectful. Here are some of the prayer requests:
- Wayne is prayomh for a thorough change in life and a better relationship with his girlfriend and parents
- Mark is praying to overcome his alcoholism and improve his life
- Myles is praying to stay out of trouble
- Mary is praying for heart and stomach health
- Cheryl is praying for heart healing after her husband died in the Fall. She is now also struggling to pay for rent.
- Dennis is praying for help as he recently got out of jail and is trying to start over (but he has no support)
- Chris is praying for his friend Theresa to recover her mental health
- Donna is praying for an apartment
- Samantha is praying to get clean and restore relationship
- Mickey is praying for health
- Delina is praying to be stronger to improve her situation
- Don is praying for his daughter in ICU with stomach ulcers
- Cheyenne is praying for improved health
- Gene is praying for his family’s well-being
- Mark is praying for health, especially for his eyes
- Gabriel is praying for healing for his body pain
- Mark is praying for recovery from an injury at work and for his back-pay
- Robert is praying for the pain to go away from his legs. He says that insurance will no longer cover his pain meds
- We sang happy birthday to Donna (Rocky)
It was a really good time of ministry on the streets and we feel so blessed by your support. Thank you all!
