Jesus in the Streets (on a really busy day) - August 20, 2023

Here is an update about Sunday in Brockton from the LYNN Ministries team at The Fellowship in Easton.

Sunday in the city was a busy one with crowds of homeless waiting for us behind Pastor Roberto's church. We served meals to 126 people, many of whom we know well but also a large crowd of newly arrived immigrants. Nerves were on edge as there is some real anger and resentment toward the new arrivals - almost entirely from Haiti - who have joined the population living in the shelter and on the streets.

Our team was so busy feeding folks that it was a real challenge to find opportunities to connect one-to-one with people.

- We did have an opportunity to pray for Chico and Gene, both of whom have severely limiting back problems exacerbated by street life.

- We also prayed for an older friend whose girlfriend is struggling with chronic respiratory problems.

- We listened to an angry and frustrated Chris rant about the world and his situation. For Chris and for so many like him, we pray that he will surrender his problems to the God who knows him better than he knows himself.

Chris represents a group of our friends who are angry at God and not interested in hearing about Him. At some point, most all of us have been Chris - believing we know better, and blind to the futility of our own way of living. Please pray for Chris's salvation and for humility to see himself honestly and God rightly.

We thank all of you, our prayer partners and supporters (and also our 6 church partners) for your love toward those who are served by LYNN Ministries.
