Jesus on the Streets (on a beautiful day) - August 21, 2022
Here’s an update from our team from The Fellowship, who served in Brockton on Sunday.
Our Fellowship team had a wonderful afternoon of serving our friends on the streets of Brockton today. God blessed us with a pleasantly warm summer day and about 70 good friends with whom we shared a meal and lots of encouraging conversation. Every trip into the city reminds us of both the broken condition of man, and the hope we find in Jesus.
Many are hurting but many are also seeing God working in their lives and seeking His redeeming love for friends and family. Several people asked that we pray for friends and family to know and trust Jesus and many expressed frustration with their plight and a desire to see real change in their lives. We were reminded that real change for all of us comes through the One who holds our very lives in his hand.
This week join us in praying for
-Rodney’s family all of whom need to know Jesus.
- Laverne who is soon to undergo gal bladder surgery,
- Jose who’s right eye is a mess and badly in need of medical attention.
- Christine who is struggling with many issues all of which lead to significant health problems.
- Earl who is struggling to stay on the recovery track. Earl expressed deep appreciation for the community of believers who love him and are praying for him.
- Jada, a 17y/o who works at the Dunkin’s we frequent after serving. Jada has been troubled by difficult dreams of late.
Finally, a conversation with a friend named Jay reminded us that God is in the middle of what we’re doing. Jay expressed despair at his circumstances – no job, nowhere to live, no hope, but he was moved to tears by our reminding him that we love him and God desires something so much better for him. May he find that GOOD thing that comes through surrender to Christ.
Thank you to our friends who continue to support this ministry.
