Brockton - September 28, 2025

We had an amazing day out on the streets of Brockton on Sunday, where temperatures reached 80° and (almost) everyone was in a really good mood. We served over 136 of our friends, a hot meal, and most of them got baked goods and fruit, although we were ran out toward the end. We also ran out of water, which rarely happens. We had a few interesting encounters/complaints. I guess when you’re serving over 100 people in a day it’s difficult to please everyone.

We had volunteers from Church of Emmanuel, South Shore Community Church, Stonehill College

There were a number of prayer requests that we will share here:

– Reschel is very worried about the infection in Chris’s ankle. He has been in the hospital for a month. She is also wrestling with back pain and her phone was stolen.

– Jean-Pierre is a Haitian man who recited the Lord‘s prayer in Haitian Creole for me.

– Tex is praying to get a new job.

– Laura is praying for her disability money to come in and to get a new card after hers was stolen.

– Guillermo is praying for Miriam’s health and for his life to improve

– Jacqueline is praying that she could be someplace safe.

– Robena is praying for housing for her and her son

– Jose scored points with us for asking for a trash bag to pick up trash around the park. What a nice guy.

– Rashawn is pleased with the new cane we got for him. He is praying for the people in Arizona who are affected by the flash flood. He was also asking for prayer for one of our volunteers as she is currently still in college.

– Angela is praying for serenity and peace in her relationships.

– Nori is praying for health in her life.

– Kerri is praying for her 14-year-old girl, her four-year-old boy, and her dog who is missing named Bailey.

– Kristina is praying for safety and for her son who is 13

– Mario wants to go to detox.

– Josh is praying for his mom’s addiction.

– Russell is ill and needs our prayer. He also asks for prayer for Thor who is in the hospital.

– Francisco prayed for the whole team before he took his meal

– JD recited more poetry for us and I hope to include it in this post.

– Tashonda is praying for her son in jail and her daughter who is in an abusive relationship. She is also praying for her faith.

– Juan is praying for his court case on Tuesday. He is also praying for his six children.

– Malik is praying for the strength to endure the hardships he faces.

– Caden is praying for a job at Burlington Coat Factory. He’s hoping to hear on Tuesday.

– Seth is praying for patience with people and his circumstances.

– Jimmy and I had an interesting conversation about the new living translation Bible.

We are so very thankful for all of you who read our posts and pray for us. We are thankful for those who bake and cook for us and for those who make monetary donations so that we can buy the things we need to provide for our friends. Thank you all!
