Brockton - September 27, 2026

Sunday it rained. For those who don’t live in New England, we had what’s called a nor’easter which is a lot of rain and a lot of wind. So, we got wet. Very wet. But so were our friends on the streets. And that’s why we serve in all weather.

We did not see many of our friends, we only served 52 meals, but those we met were deeply moved by our presence. The bad weather and low numbers also allowed us to serve much larger portions, which was also a source of joy. And it was all appreciated.

A surprising number of people came to be served in the park, where we start our service days. But a large number of people were also huddled under bridges, trying to stay dry, and so we served them there as well. We also saw two of our friends trudging down the street and so we stopped right there to serve them. Traffic was light so there was no danger.

There were a number of prayer requests but most people just asked for a blessing as they hustled away to get dry. Here’s the list that we do have:

- Denis is praying for new opportunities. He was a first responder in the army and is hoping to be able to do that in civilian life as well. He currently stays in a VA shelter.

- Rodney is praying for his families’s well-being.

- Tex is in a lot of pain and needs hernia surgery.

- Matt said that his tent was destroyed and he is praying for safety.

- Russell promised to keep an eye on our friends under the bridge to keep things calm.

- James asked for prayers for his dog (Brownie) and another dog (Chelsea) that he’s been watching. Chelsea is going to be having puppies in October.

- Gill is praying for his sister Miriam.

- Becca looks really good. She has been in detox for three weeks. Becca is fighting the good battle even though she relapses from time to time.

- Others that we saw that are in need of prayer include: India, Freddy, Sheila, Christina, Kenny, Mary, James, and Andre.

It is people like you, those who read these posts, pray, and/or contribute to LYNN Ministries that make what we do possible. We are so very grateful.
