Brockton - October 4, 2026

Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous day to be serving our friends on the streets of Brockton. Our friends were enjoying the nice weather so we didn’t see as many people. We served 79 meals along with fresh fruit home, baked goods and cold drinks.

People were in a very good mood, although we had a little excitement down at the library, where a couple people were arguing, but it all settled down. One of our friends also suggested a new location where we found five people in need of food.

There were many prayer requests so let’s get started:

– Tex needs hernia surgery and help with his SSDI application. We are praying that the right people are able to give him assistance.

– Lee stopped by to say hi. We haven’t served him in almost a year. He has a job and apartment and is doing well.

– Freddy asked for prayers for us.

– (Zamboni) John is unhappy about the lack of resources in Brockton.

– Derek is waiting to hear results on the cancer treatment he’s been receiving. He feels hopeful but is still nervous.

– Francisco is praying for his 14 year old daughter and her mother, who live in New Bedford.

– (GQ) John admitted that he’s been misbehaving (drinking), so his family kicked him out and now he’s back in Brockton. We really like John and we’re praying that he can get sober and go back home again.

– Enoch was on a bike and had a Bible still in its wrapper. (I teased him that it works better when you take it out of the wrapper and read it.) He is praying for his four kids in DR. Two if them are school age, and are having trouble paying tuition to go to school.

– Collen is praying for everyone out on the streets.

– Chris goes to church but is on the streets. His parents both died and he’s been alone for a long time. He seems like a really great guy that just can’t get his feet under him.

– Chris (different Chris) stopped by to say hi. We haven’t seen him in a long time.

– Russell has a birthday on Tuesday. Deb brought him a cupcake.

– Joe was so pleased to see us because a couple weeks ago he helped us with an aggressive guy at the Library (since been arrested). Joe was afraid that we wouldn’t return and was so pleased that we were able to serve him.

– Brandy has been chased, stabbed, and burned. She has no safe place to stay. She tried to go to the shelter, but she has claustrophobia and can’t take the crowding.

– Elle is praying for her safety.

– Linda told us Anthony has been working all week. This makes us very excited and we’re pleased and praying that Anthony continues to be able to find work.

– Gill’s sister needs prayer. She has been in rehab for 87 days but should be coming home by December or January. She’s has suffered with a bad addiction but she’s trying to get better to see her two kids.

– Brian is praying for his son Brian Junior.

– Amanda is praying for her kids and for health. She was so very hungry that she was eating with her hands (she didn’t want to take time to use a fork).

– We also want to lift up for general prayer: Matt, Sheila, Ashley, Rochelle, Jessica, Tiger, Toni, Danielle, Ty, Colongi, Kenny, and the guy wearing chains.

It was a very moving day for us and we are so very thankful for the opportunity to serve as Jesus‘s hands and feet to those in need. You, the people reading this and supporting us in prayer and provision are the ones who make it possible. Thank you so very much and God bless you.
