Brockton - September 21, 2025
Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team from The Fellowship who served in Brockton on Sunday.
The first day of Fall felt exactly the way it should - cool, crisp air and beautiful sunshine. It was the perfect day to be on the sidewalks of Brockton ministering to the needs of our homeless friends. Our team of 11, including 3 first-time participants, engaged with over 80 people in varying states of need, recovery, or desperation. What a privilege it is to come alongside someone and share the hope of Christ while listening to their hearts and meeting some of their material needs.
After our trip into the city last month, several members of our team decided they would put together simple emergency personal hygiene bags for the women we encounter. Today, every bag our team prepared was handed out within the first 30 minutes of serving. We look forward to growing this aspect of the ministry to include essentials for men. We promise more to come about how you can participate in this endeavor.
Each month, there are a few encounters that stand out as specifically God ordained. Today, that encounter was between a few of our women and Alberta, a lovely homeless woman who was sitting outside the shelter. Shortly before we were ready to depart, Alberta came over to talk with us. The engagement quickly transformed into a tearful, heartfelt expression of great need. Our ladies embraced Alberta, prayed over her, and gave her exactly what she needed in the moment - a compassionate touch of human hands. We thank God for the tender hearts of the women on our team, and for the opportunity to see, hear, and love Alberta. For so many like Alberta, healing begins with true expressions of Christ's love.
Thank you to all who quietly partner with us through prayer and preparation of the meals that open doors!
Who wouldn’t love this team! Thank you for serving!
