Brockton - October 17, 2026
Saturday was an amazing day out on the streets of Brockton. It was the third Saturday of the month, therefore we brought lots of clothes, toiletries, and other essential items for those living outdoors. It was cold and windy which made the hot food we provided so much more appreciated. The meal was sloppy Joe’s with roasted vegetables on the side, along with fruit, baked goods and snacks, and hot coffee or cocoa. We went to four locations and were well received at each of them. Sadly, by the end of the day we had run out of the main meal.
We had a couple newcomers on the team and that made for a very enjoyable day. Here are some of the prayers that were requested:
– Big J is currently working at FedEx and hoping to save enough money for an apartment for he and his wife.
– Matt is praying to stay warm and sober.
– Freddy was dressed like a Dunkin’ donut. He had hot pink crocs on his feet that were looked cold, but he said they were necessary to complete the outfit.
– Danache is praying that he can remember that God‘s opinion is the only one that really matters.
– Cathy is praying for better relations with some of the people who we were serving.
– Brian is praying for sobriety and cleanliness.
– Jack has been homeless for two days. He doesn’t really know the ropes and was very appreciative to get a sleeping bag. We are praying he stayed warm through the cold snap that night.
– Jaime is also new to being homeless and she is missing blue her dog.
– Tyrrell thanks us that we came back out to the street. He’s not used to teams being so consistent in their service.
– George said he needs more spirituality.
– David is praying for sobriety.
– Paul is praying to get out of this mess.
– Katie is praying for her fiancé and for her bunny
– Barbara (Hot Wheels) was really glad to see us and is always so cheerful. She has a motorized wheelchair and we pray for her health.
– Diane (Princess Diana) took pictures with us. She also collected some clothes for her friend Bobby, who is a veteran and doesn’t like to accept charity. We are praying for her.
– Carlotta was so happy to see us. We hadn’t seen her in a couple years, and she looked really good.
– Carlos was stabbed in the face. He is hoping that he heals quickly and is looking at an apartment on Monday.
– Gill has been sick for 10 days and grumpy. He is so thankful that his sister has made it through for 102 days in rehab.
– Kenny is having trouble getting his birth certificate.
– Barbara is 80 and didn’t have an answer to my question, “if God did something tomorrow. What would it be.?” And yet, she needs her car fixed. (She sleeps in her car and is hoping to drive it south where it’s warmer.)
– Ashley was very clearheaded today and it was such a pleasure to see her.
– Mary was so happy to receive some word search books that our volunteer Rich brought to her.
– Other names that just asked for general prayer include Felix, Sheila, the man in the Syracuse jacket, Jax, Domingues, Kevin, and Brandy
We thank all of our volunteers all of those who support LYNN Ministries for being faithful to Jesus’ call to care for those in need. You are the ones who make this possible. Thank you and God bless you!
