Brockton - November 30, 2025

Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team that served in Brockton on Sunday.

Well, it was another cold, raw and blustery day, culminating in a bit of rain for our serve time in Brockton. It was also a fairly quiet day, probably related to the holiday weekend, and we all felt a little cheated by not getting to see most of our regular friends. We provided only 70 meals but many we saw took snacks and drinks instead of meals. There was also tension in the air at Perkins Park with some men who were unknown to us creating distraction and chaos, so we were a bit on our guard in that space. And sadly, we are seeing an uptick in the numbers of people hanging out under the bridges again after a quiet few months. Our friends are hunkering down in spaces where they can stay dry and a bit warmer but having large groups congregating under the bridges rarely ends well. We had volunteers from Church of Emmanuel and South Shore Community Church, all with happy hearts to do God’s work.

Here are the prayers from the street:

– AJ is praying for a good day.

– Wavey is praying to come back home safely.

– Jessica is praying for her family to stay safe and a good day

– Kenson is looking for work.

– Tara is praying that her family gets better.

– Richard is praying to get out of his current situation.

– Nitika is praying for family and for her niece Troya.

– Jessica is praying that her husband can get out of jail and for her children to prosper

– Anjure is praying for strength to move forward in truth.

– Sam it was his birthday.

– Marina is praying for her son and for health.

– Jeremiah is praying for housing and health of volunteers.

– Jose is praying for an apartment and to get through the day and for the shelter in Quincy.

– Anna is praying to get out of this place and for her family and dog.

– Tonya is praying for her family and friends.

We continue to be so grateful for the investment of our volunteers and supporters who consistently give of time, energy and resources. We thank you for your continued prayers for our team members and for all those we serve who are filled with anxiety and fear as the winter weather descends.
