Brockton - November 23, 2025

It was a cold blustery day on Sunday in Brockton that started with blue skies and ended with snow flurries. It was quite cold by the time we wrapped up. We served 109 meals to our friends on the streets across 4 locations. Most of the people were very polite and patient as we served them but some are clearly starting to get anxious about the coming cold weather.

Normally, as the cold sets in we would start to see a drop in the number of people we’re serving but the numbers are actually increasing, which has us worried about the strain on our volunteers. It could be a very hard winter of serving. We had volunteers from: Church of Emmanuel, South Shore Community Church, Stonehill College

We had lots of prayer requests this week:

- Kimberly is asking for prayer for her 4 children, for her mom, and for housing.

– Wresinsci is asking for prayers for protection on the streets.

– Danache is asking for a job.

– Marcie is praying that she will be able to follow God‘s bill and to get into a rehab program.

– Daniel had been in a fight with a man who was abusing a woman and he is praying to overcome his addiction.

– John told us that he’s been sober for 35 days. He also shared that our friend Pinto froze to death the other night.

– Chris is asking us to pray for his friend Wavy who is currently struggling in a program.

– Brian and Robena are praying for protection as they live at the shelter.

– Patrick is hoping to get into rehab this week.

– We saw Sal for the first time in a long time and it was wonderful to reconnect.

– Angie is being abused and having things stolen. She needs prayer.

– Rocky and Irene stopped by to say hi, which is always nice.

– Clive is praying to get back reconnected to Jesus and church.

– Caden is hoping to get more hours at work. We’re very pleased that he is working again.

– Rick is praying that he will be able to complete what God put on his heart which is to bike across America to raise funds for veterans.

– Others who are simply looking for prayer include Mary, Russell, King, Nori, Alejandro, Thaddeus, and Kelley

We are so very thankful for our volunteers and donors. We are serving more meals than usual, which hits our budget, but more importantly it taxes our volunteer bakers, cooks, and servers as we need larger teams to meet all the needs. Please be praying for us as this may be a very difficult winter
