Brockton - November 16, 2025
Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team from The Fellowship who served 96 meals in Brockton on Sunday.
Sometimes serving in Brockton is challenging not because of who we serve but because of the weather conditions. On November 16 it was windy with an approximate steady wind of 16 mph with gusts up to 34 mph. It was a chore keeping things from blowing away. However, the wind didn’t hinder our mission of bringing God’s love to the city via serving meatball subs, salad, fruit, various snacks, and hot coffee and hot chocolate.
Of course then there’s the clothing items, which were and are greatly appreciated. Our LYNN Ministry teams have handed out close to 175 hooded sweatshirts to cold individuals who spend most of their time on the street. Then there’s the unexpected, while we were sorting sweatshirts we came across a pair of men’s sneakers which was interesting because we didn’t ask for that item, but there they were tucked in the bag full of sweatshirts. The interesting part is a man at the shelter came to us for a hot meal, we noticed that he didn’t have shoes just sandals so we asked if he wanted a pair of sneakers he did and they fit, go figure, sometimes and perhaps more than we know God provides before the need appears.
In the city there’s always an undertone, most times it’s not noticed and not intimidating but there are times when we are watchful and aware, Sunday was one of those days – so the light of Jesus was challenged by the darkness of the enemy, we responded – think of that the light of the world was there to challenge the darkness. Here’s what we did: one of our team distributed 3 Bibles, three compact-sized New Testaments, and one gospel tract, along with individual prayer. Our prayer list is attached below, pray as the Holy Spirit leads. Thank you for your care and support.
• Pray for Autumn – She needs God’s love, protection and provision. She is small and vulnerable. (She took a gospel tract.)
• Raymond - Prayer for his wife, Keri, and his sister, Jesse, to stay safe and supported as well as not to be discriminated against.
