Brockton - May 18, 2024

It was rather cold and raw on Saturday as we served 96 meals of Moo Goo Gai Pan on the streets of Brockton while the skies threatened to rain. We had the youth group from Grace Presbyterian Church - South Shore serving with us and these kids were rocking it! (What a great group!) We were incredibly busy and didn’t make it past our 3rd stop before running out of food.

There was so much joy, and heartbreak, and laughter. Some of the “kids” this was their first time out on the streets because they’re in college. I know I shared a lot of pictures but there was so much going on and I like to capture moments of prayer because at its heart, that is how we remind our friends that they are loved by us, and more importantly by Jesus. (I always tell them, “He loves you more!”) Things were moving fast so I didn’t capture all the prayer requests but here’s what I have. (Also I think I may get some names wrong but if so I’ll go back and edit this post.)

- Chris was so angry today. He was venting about the dangers outside his apartment (there are police cameras and gunshot detectors) so he can’t have his kids visit.

- Tawana asked for prayers for the McGee family

- Eric is back with his wife. Yay!

- Freddy is happy that his neighbors are nice to him.

- Nate is looking for housing for he and his wife. (Landlord is renovating his building so he had to move out and find a new place, and all the rents are about $2000/month.)

- Tony is healing from pneumonia and had 2 toes amputated.

- Donald has been on the streets for a month. He had his backpack stolen and lost his wallet, his laptop, and clothes. He needs a job, a car (so he can work), and housing.

- Jose asked us to pray for his family.

- Tom had a 3rd surgery for male breast cancer and is going through radiation, chemo and immunotherapy. He has a job as a plumber but is barely surviving under all this stress.

Thank you all so much for your ongoing prayers and support!
