Brockton - May 16, 2026
It was an absolutely gorgeous day on Saturday in Brockton. It was the third Saturday so we brought an entire load of clothes and toiletries along with food and cold drinks. We served 101 people across five locations and even took a hike into the woods to check on a tent city, but it was abandoned.
We had volunteers from the following churches: Church of Emmanuel, Grace Chapel, St. Mary's Foxboro, Arabic Evangelical Baptist Church Of Boston
The prayer list is long but here we go:
– Kenson is praying for a job and he wants to go to school to improve his English and to get trained in mechanical repairs.
– Sheila had a wonderful conversation with Rich about faith versus religion.
– Jenny is excited to have an apartment, but the man she staying with is causing her some concern. We need to be praying for her safety.
– Cobi is working so we are so excited. His son Cleef is hoping to come join him here.
– Max is just out of prison and seems like a really nice guy. We’re not sure of his entire backstory, but we’re hoping we’re able to help him in the future once he gets settled.
– Chris has been doing drugs with his friends and so we need to be praying for him.
– Paul had a birthday on Friday so we sang for him. He and his girlfriend Cassie were very excited to get some fresh clothes.
– Jose and Jenna were very happy to receive a meal. She told us that we were beautiful and the truth is so is she. She asked for prayers for her two kids, a boy and a girl.
– Shauna is suffering PTSD from some severe abuse. She needs desperate prayer for safety.
– Kenny is having trouble getting his birth certificate from Connecticut. No one seems to know why they won’t send it to him. He needs this so that he can get back into his bank account and pay bills. It’s also very sad to hear that he has no friends nearby that will walk with him so he can get the exercise he needs for his heart.
– Becca is now 10 weeks sober. She asked for a Bible and said she’s taking one day at a time.
– Our friend Skip is in the hospital and needs prayer.
– Mary is scheduled to have surgery in a couple of weeks and could use prayer. She’s worried.
– James (and Brownie his dog) said that things are going well. Praise God
– Marie received communion. She is praying for her daughter and grandson.
– Laura is five months pregnant. She needs our prayer.
– John fell into drugs and now finds himself staying at the shelter. He’s trying to save money and prove that he is responsible so that he can move to Florida with his sister.
– Tom has a broken femur and is in a wheelchair. For some reason he cannot get a regular bed in the shelter, even though he’s disabled.
– Rashae is hoping to go to school for cosmetology.
– Roman is being evicted due to paperwork problems. She needs prayers.
– Jose fell down while we were serving him. From what we understand, he has colon cancer and the drugs they give him make him dizzy.
– Other people who didn’t ask for specific prayers, but could use God‘s presence in their lives. Include Jean, Domingues, Barbara, Karen, Leah, and Luis.
It was an amazing day. We had so much fun and we are so very thankful for the opportunity to serve our friends in Brockton. Thank you all for helping us have such a wonderful ministry and provide care and hope to people on the streets.
