Brockton - May 11, 2025
Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team that served 71 meals on Sunday in Brockton. There were volunteers from Church of Emmanuel, South Shore Community Church, St. Mary's Foxboro, St Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, Grace Chapel Foxboro, Beacon Covenant Church, Attleboro and Waters Church. It is such a pleasure to see all these people from different churches working together to serve those in need.
We had a great day serving our friends in Brockton and celebrating Mother’s Day with flowers for all thd mom’s we served! Weather was about 70° nice and sunny (ask Katy!). Since the homeless shelter has been moved from Spring St. we had a lower count of friends visiting. However, there were many prayers offered and we remember our friends in need.
- James (wheelchair) - fairly sad when we first started talking. He misses his mom who passed away a few years ago. Misses his Dad and two brothers who also passed away a few years back.
- Joseph asks for prayers for safety
- Danika & Tim - asked for prayer as Danika is having a difficult time with her caseworker. He's very demanding and has been rude to her. Pray that they would be happy in all circumstances. She is happy that she's finally getting into the apartment.
- (Bruins) John is in need of a new mattress and box spring (queen size) the one he has is being held together by duct tape and had bed bugs.
- Lindsey needs prayers for upcoming eye surgery that it is successful and she can see better.
- Victor asked for prayers for his family
- Keyshawn (King) is praying that he will get it together, also pray for a job as there seems to be no one hiring even under the table. He's been sleeping 'here and there' . Not a good environment for someone who is trying to stay clean.
- Guy(?) from Brazil needs a job but no one will hire him as he doesn't speak english
- Joseph also needs a job
- Kimberly has four kids and needs hip surgery
- Manny was very drunk but asked for prayer for life in general
- Freddy was very concerned and asked multiple times to be reassured that we would still be coming around the park and serving food
- Brooklyn Mary prayer for her (12) children
- Jesse stopped by to say hi
- Dawn & Autumn- Dawn’s leg was amputated below the knee as well as part of her rrmaining foot from frostbite, and Autumn is in rehab. They asked for prayers for safety
Thank you to all our volunteers and supporters who make this ministry possible!
