Brockton Lost Another - July 18, 2025

Recently, we received confirmation that our friend Robert died in his sleep last week. Robert had been a long haul trucker for most of his adult life. The need to stay alert during long days and nights of driving led him to use amphetamines and then cocaine. He overcame those addictions but could not escape alcohol.

Robert went through rehab numerous times but it never lasted more than a few months. Robert was a Christian and we often spoke about Jesus and his prayer life. But his tortured soul often made him question the purpose for his continued existence. It made us incredibly sad. He could not see in himself what we saw, a kind and generous man.

In his final years, Robert was well known for his shopping cart full of cans that he would redeem for some spending money. Just two weeks ago we prayed with him and he seemed to be in good spirits so it was quite sad to hear of his passing. Robert has been a regular for the LYNN Ministries teams for over a decade and in the attached pictures you can see many of our team members sharing time with this gentle and kind man. Please be praying for Robert’s friends and family as we grieve his passing. Finally, Robert is healed of his addiction.
