Brockton Lost a Brother - July 7, 2025

This morning about 1 am our friend Will Newton took his final breath. He had been hospitalized, battling cancer for several weeks. Deb and I were so blessed to see Will, and pray with him, one last time on July 4th. We are so thankful for Pastor Roberto, his wife Rose, Judy and so many others from his church who have been providing daily comfort to Will and the medical staff caring for him.

We met Will in the fall of 2011, as it was getting cold. He was homeless and living in his car. His life gone off the tracks and he was looking for hope and help. Will had been a lead singer for the Platters, and so he serenaded one of our volunteers with the song, “Only You”. We were blown away by his voice! We ministered to Will in the early days, and as he got his life back on track, getting clean and sober, Will became the worship leader at Pastor Roberto’s church. Then, when Will saw LYNN Ministries serving on the streets, he would stop and minister to us. Will was such a blessing to us and we will miss him deeply, but we know he is now beyond pain, singing worship to our Savior. What could be better than that? May God comfort all those who are broken hearted over Will’s passing. Please rejoice in the fact that Will is still alive, in our memories and in Christ.
