Attleboro - July 12, 2025
Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team at Beacon Covenant Church, Attleboro who served on Saturday in Attleboro.
It was a hot, bright sunny day to be out serving the Lord in Attleboro. We were able to serve about 45 folks with prayer, encouragement, snacks, fruit, homemade baked goods, cold drinks, and clothing needs.
We’ve seen the expected increase in people living outside during the warmer months. At the first tent village we visited, we found at least ten active tent/campsites, where it had been down to just one for parts of last winter. We know of at least three different tent villages in Attleboro, where folks are living, and we surmise there are a lot more than that.
We’ve also seen a lot of new faces the past few months, more than usual. We’re not sure what to make of this, but we will happily serve whomever God puts in front of us each day we are blessed to serve them. In general, we ask for your continued prayers for the people living outside, that they can find housing, and the meals that they need. Thank you to all of you who participate in, and support this ministry of love and caring.
Prayer Reqeusts:
Bob – Doing well, but still living outside. He’s looking for a new location to set up the tent we got him, as he doesn’t like crowds. He’d like to find some landscaping work, but it seems harder to get than in past years.
Paul – Very new to living on the streets, we are going to get some clothes for him, as he has almost nothing at the moment.
Valerie – Prayers that she is able to find work, housing, and peace.
Bob II – He had a job in a machine shop working on presses for about 26 years, before being laid off recently. Now, he’s living outside, and would really like to get back to work, and into housing.
Jim – Living outside and struggling with COPD. He really needs to be housed, but not in a nursing home, as he feels that is not a place to get better. Prayers that he can manage his breathing issues.
Amanda – She’s been living in a car with her boyfriend and her father in another vehicle for months. It is getting harder and harder to manage her father’s health issues.
Patricia – Her great-great grandson is a toddler, and he recently had a fall out of a shopping cart. He’s doing okay now, but fell on his face, and was bruised and cut. He’s healing now. Prayers for Patricia’s grandchildren and greats to be able to stay connected to her.
Thanks again to our team in Attleboro!
