Brockton - June 9, 2024
Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team that served 73 meals to our friends in Brockton on Sunday. It was a rainy day (at times it was pouring) but they still managed to bring a great deal of love to the streets.
We started out the day with clouds overhead but excitement and anticipation of who God would introduce us to.
As soon as we set up the pop-up canopy the rain decided to come down in buckets, but it did not deter us from God's work.
At one point the whole team was trying to utilize Google translator to understand what an older gentleman was requesting (we couldn’t figure out the correct language) only to discover that Deb had a special request for him already waiting in the truck! What a sweet patient man he was with us.
A lovely woman Laurie came over and received meals for herself and a number of others outside in the rain. Come to find out she remembered me (Ang) from previous weekends when we stopped at Spring St. She hugged me tight and told me how grateful she was for us and prays for us all the time. (heart swell)
The bridges were another experience, living conditions are terrible, add to that wet cold weather and desperation.
We are grateful to the Lord for keeping everyone safe.
Lots of prayer lifted up to the Lord. Jairah was a prayer ninja, even praying "on the move".
Rich recorded the following prayer requests:
- Braydon is homeless and blind and needs God’s help. His friend Brittany (also homeless) walks with him to keep him safe.
- Reagan was having a tough living under the bridges.
Overall it was raining too hard to write down all the prayer requests.
Thank you to all those who support LYNN Ministries through your donations of time, talent, and treasure. You have truly blessed us, and those we serve!
