Brockton - June 15, 2024

It was an absolutely gorgeous day to be serving 75 meals of Chicken Marsala, across 4 locations on the streets of Brockton. (We served more people than that as some didn’t take a meal.) It was the 3rd Saturday of the month so we had a lot of clothes and toiletries, and were blessed to have Drew join us for distribution of reading glasses as a well! It was a pleasure to be joined by two of my college fraternity brothers, George and Joe, for the first time too.

There were so many prayer requests, but here are a few of them:

- Paul was pleased to tell us about his morning prayer ritual with his 7 sisters.

- James (not Jim) is praying for his finances as he only has $20 to cover his expenses for the next 10 days, He’s also praying for his girlfriend who is ill and his sister who lives in Las Vegas.

- Shawn has lost a lot of weight and we fear he may have diabetes. We made him pinky swear that he would see a doctor on Monday.

- We prayed for Nellie in a park as she was really struggling.

- Nori is praying for her friends’ health, both mental and physical.

- Russell hurt his neck (he broke it this winter) and is angry about the lack of available housing because of the influx of refugees

- Dawn is excited to share that her daughter is out of ICU

- Maggie needs prayers as she’s been struggling since her boyfriend died in January.

- Erika needs prayer for all aspects of her health. She promised to keep her eyes open to what God may be doing in her life.

- Shaun is a new guy who is praying to do what’s needed to get clean and sober.

- We learned that our friend Robert has been in the hospital for over a month and needs our prayers.

- Francisco needs prayer for surgery coming up in July.

- Wendell is a veteran who needs help as his wife filed a police report to evict him from his house and moved her family into it.

- We also learned that our friend Miss Clara passed away this past week at the age of 81.

It was a tremendous day of service and sharing the love of Jesus. We are so happy with all our volunteers who make these days possible: the clothes collectors, the bakers, the cooks, the toiletry baggers, the clothing packers, the street servers, the financial contributors, and the behind the scenes prayer warriors. Thank you and may God bless you!
