Brockton - June 16, 2024
Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team from The Fellowship in Easton that served on Sunday.
This past Sunday the Lord blessed our team with a beautiful day as we went into Brockton to serve and share Christ's love with our friends living on the streets. We served 107 meals, courtesy of generous families here at the Fellowship. The meal you provide is both wholesome and filling, and serves as a wonderful conversation starter as we work to build relationships and hear the hearts of those we serve.
The downside of the beautiful weather is many more on the streets, and much more destructive behavior out in the open. We had numerous opportunities to pray with those who are dealing with addiction, struggling with estrangement from loved ones, or struggling to find a way to make it from one day to the next. One young man thanked us for the offer to pray, but stated, "you can't pray addiction away." What a great opportunity to explain that's exactly what can happen when we invite Jesus into our struggle and ask him to take over. Several team members joined together to pray with and over this friend. We ask you to do the same for all those weighed down by addiction and believing they will overcome it in their own strength.
The following names are the people we served at the two locations. There were about 20 others who either did not speak English or declined prayers.
