Brockton - June 23, 2024
Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day to be serving on the streets of Brockton, where we provided 113 meals to our friends on the streets. We were joined by a group of women from Family and Community Resources, Inc. who were handing out blessing bags of essential provisions. We were absolutely overrun at our first stop and we noted there were many more migrants than we have seen in the past few weeks. Here are some of the prayer requests:
- Bobby and Andrea are praying to get into a home and to be reunited with their children
- Michel and Vanel are 2 able-bodied men who are praying they will be allowed to work
- Tim and Brittany were helping their blind friend Braydon who says he is beyond prayer. We assured him we’d be praying for him anyway and asked that he keeps his mind open for God acting in his life.
- Patrick is a long-time friend. He’s pleased to be out of rehab in North Cottage but is already struggling with life back on the streets. (This breaks our heart.)
- I prayed for a guy wearing a Yankees hat. Lord, seriously? You are testing me!
- May, Donaldo, and Jeangatly didn’t understand a word of my prayer, except Jesus and Amen. (So in reality, they understood my prayer.)
- Chris is losing hope in a better life/living environment and seems to be in despair
- Steve is thrilled with his new apartment and asked to thank God.
- Kenneth is still in the shelter and his knees aren’t working too well. He needs prayer.
- Kerilynne and Raymond are praying for their 2 children, and health, safety and housing. I’m not quite sure what I said in my prayer but they were both in tears so clearly the Holy Spirit made sure they got the right message.
- Terri stopped by to visit (haven’t seen her in over a year) and she’s happy in a new apartment for elder housing.
- Irene is very concerned about a friend in rehab and is sure that God is in control.
- James finally told us his nickname, “Late for Supper”
- Christian and Krystal desperately need a home. They were very emotional as there is some aspect of being on the spectrum that is affecting them.
- Anthony is back from Georgia to get some of his things but is hoping to rejoin Stephanie soon.
- Lisa was pushed down some stairs and her face needed stitches. She needs prayer.
- Big Michael has been absent for a couple months but finally caught up with us. He appreciates our prayers.
- Michael (number 2) is praying for a place to live. He is sad that his cousin died and he didn’t have the ability to go to his wake.
- Keshawn is praying to be part of the solution in Brockton.
- We caught Russell cleaning up trash in the park just to make it more presentable. He also appreciates our prayer but didn’t want us praying for him in the park.
Thank you all so much for your continued support, and reading our FB posts. It is encouraging to know that many of you are praying for our friends ion the street and for our ability to reach the lost within Brockton and Attleboro. May you recognize God’s blessings in your life this week. We love you, but Jesus loves you more!
