Attleboro - June 8, 2024
Here is an update from Saturday’s team from Evangelical Covenant Church, Attleboro who served in Attleboro.
It was a beautiful day to be out serving our friends in Attleboro today. Although we had a smaller team than usual, everyone stepped up and served joyfully to a larger than usual number of friends. We ended up serving about 50-55 folks with prayer, encouragement, snacks, fruit, drinks, homemade baked goods, and clothing. We served about 16-18 folks that are now living outside, but we think that the number is higher, and growing. Most folks that we've met in this situation are looking for work, and are eargerly anticipating the new shelter. We found them at the end of our day, but were able to spend some good time with them. They were moved by our prayers for them, and we are looking forward to seeing them next month. We had some clothes left for them, as well as tarps and some lanterns donated by an ECC member, all of which were much appreciated.
Prayers are needed for the following folks:
- Eric and Carrie who are living outside. Carrie was happy to have visited with her daughter the previous day. They were doing better than last month, but are still having a hard time finding work at this time.
- Beth, Geno, Paul, and Charlie were all folks we met at another tent village. Their spirits were good considering their current predicament, and were very happy to see us, and moved by our prayers. Most of them we were meeting for the first time, and they were happy to be encouraged by our team, and know that people are caring about them.
- David is also living outside off and on, and with his brother at other times. He had a career managing several convenience stores, but is struggling to find work at the moment.
- George, Debbie, and Bob are also living outside, and need our continued prayers.
- Thanks for answered prayers for Linda, who is feeling better this month.
Thanks everyone for your continued support of this ministry, and for your prayers for our friends. They feel them.
