Brockton - June 22, 2025

Here is Sunday’s update from the LYNN Ministries team at The Fellowship in Easton.

We had another wonderful day serving our friends on the streets in Brockton. Although it was hot, God blessed us with a few shady spots from which to set up and serve. We fed 88 friends who loved the meal and were so appreciative of the effort to extend a loving hand to them.

A few folks who joined our team for the first time today were taken back by the kindness and appreciative hearts of those we served. As one team member shared, it was an important corrective about the way we view and think about people on the streets. If we can look past often disheveled appearances, we realize we're serving people who are very much like us, with the same hopes, the same desires, and the same need to be known and loved.

Typically, when we pray with people we remind them God sees them, knows them by name, and wants to carry their burdens. Today there were several prayers for job opportunities and shelter.

- We also prayed with John and Ashley who have a 9 year old daughter they are desperate to be reunited with. This couple is celebrating 14 months of sobriety, and anxious to find work and a home that will allow them to be reunited with their child.

- We prayed with Benny who knows Jesus as his savior, but is experiencing extreme stress related to his present circumstances.

- We also prayed with TIna who has sclerosis of the liver and is dealing with the complications that come with this serious illness. She told us she believes in and trusts Jesus, but her tears reflect the physical pain she struggles with daily.

As you go about your day, we invite you to lift a prayer for the most needy, the most vulnerable of our neighbors. The need is great but our God is greater and he calls us, his church, to meet the need.

Thank you to the team in Easton! You are so deeply appreciated.
