Brockton - June 21, 2025

It was an absolutely gorgeous day on Saturday as we served 99 people across 4 locations on the streets of Brockton. Attitudes were mostly upbeat, as everyone was enjoying the first sunshine on a Saturday in a very long time.

We had volunteers from Church of Emmanuel, Grace Chapel, Grace Chapel Foxboro. We had the opportunity to pray with many people in here is the list:

- Lisa is hoping to get her house in order and get her utility bills paid. She is also praying that she can get a stronger connection with God and to slow down and hear Him.

- Malik came to join us and shared many of his insights of being homeless for nearly a decade. He observed that hopelessness has now become the culture and when I asked him what has changed he said that prophecy is being fulfilled. He said it’s depressing that the faces are all different but the story remains the same and he’s concerned that there are so many good hearts with bad habits.

- Anthony is worried about Stephanie and her son Nicholas down in Georgia. And he is praying that she remains safe.

- John had an interview on Tuesday in Braintree, and we can’t wait to hear how it went.

- Mark was just thankful.

- Alejandro is hoping to get a car so that he can take a job that has been offered to him. He is praying that he not get discouraged and that he doesn’t give up.

- Sean was making balloon animals for us, and is looking for ways to volunteer to give back.

- Richard is praying for friends and family and newcomers at the shelter.

- Emmanuel is praying that his family would be more united.

- Tina is praying that she can move forward and get her own home. She also wants to get better acquainted with God.

- Bobby is praying for his godchild Stevie in prison. Stevie has an addiction to fentanyl which gets him into trouble. Bobby said he is particularly concerned because he himself was an addict for 32 years on opiates, but he got into Teen Challenge and he’s now been sober for the past 18 months. He is praying for housing as well.

- Bethany is praying for general health.

- Fiona is praying for her son who is one and a half years old and in DCF custody custody.

We are so very thankful for all of our volunteers. So many of you do what you can and have no idea what a blessing it is to us. Thank you all so much and may God bless you!
