Brockton - June 1, 2025

A late posting for last week’s LYNN Ministries team that served 116 meals on the streets of Brockton.

We experienced a wonderful day serving our friends in Brockton! The weather was a bit of a mix—sunny, windy, and a little chilly.

It was inspiring to connect with so many individuals and hear their stories. Here are some of the prayer requests and updates shared by our friends:

- Francisco is asking for prayers for his family in Bedford.

- Freddy is very grateful for the food and asks for prayer regarding his high cholesterol medication.

- Jim & Michel expressed their gratitude for the food provided.

- "Bruins" John is quite concerned as he still needs to get his ID and hasn't received his monthly social security check.

- Marie requests prayers for her daughter and 4-year-old grandson.

- Tara asked for prayers for her family and cousins.

- Donna is facing shelter problems. She's hoping to get into an apartment but isn't happy with the options her caseworker has shown her. She's contemplating a move to Providence, thinking it might be better there.

- Justin didn't ask for prayer; he has a place to live but prefers to stay in the park.

- Adam recently got a job doing excavating work and is now able to get an apartment—fantastic news!

- Mike is in a difficult place, still using heroin. He shared a story of losing his house, wife, and family after an accident which led to pain pill addiction, then escalated to heroin. After a second accident and a nine-month hospital stay where he got clean, he was given pain pills "just in case" and is now back to shooting up heroin. He desperately wants to break this cycle.

- Adam is looking for a job and is currently sleeping on the streets, but he is not using.

- Riu is happy and thankful for the food.

- Jah is couch surfing and asks for prayers for his family. He's a self-proclaimed entrepreneur.

- Carlos asked for prayers for safety on the streets and a place to live.

- Michael & Bethany: Michael is very distraught as Bethany had a severe seizure and has been in the hospital for a few days. She occasionally has seizures, but this one was particularly bad. Michael asks for prayers for her health and for them to get back together.

- Nori (female) had her little finger fall off after being shot, Joanne bandaged a leg wound for her. She asks for prayers for safety on the streets.

- Melissa is living in the new shelter but doesn't feel safe, sometimes having to sleep in the kitchen. Her mother recently passed away, and her phone was stolen, taking with it her mom's last message and all her pictures. Please pray for God's provision for her.

- Anthony has left Georgia without Stephanie and is back in Brockton.

- Tara asks for prayers for family members who are still alive.

- Victor requests prayer for his relationship with his girlfriend.

- Kimberly asks for prayers for her physical health, a good relationship with her children, and a roof over her head.

- Adelina asks for prayers for her five children, especially her son who was recently in a near-fatal accident. She also asks for protection, a roof over her head, guidance for the future, and to be reunited with her children soon. (She received a tent and a couple pairs of socks, but her tent was ripped).

- Cafe praises God for his faith, gratitude. He is happy where he is right now. He has two jobs and a roof over his head.

We thank all those who are support our efforts to care for the least of these.
