Brockton - July 12, 2026

We had a fantastic team of volunteers who served for LYNN Ministries, Inc. last Sunday. Here is an update from the team.

Sherri opened with prayer at Perkins Park and Joanne led us in our closing prayer at Dunkin Donuts. It was a wonderful day serving our friends, despite the hot temps.

We served 65 people across three locations. We served an additional 10+ with requests only for snacks and drink, no meal. There were other small groups of people serving in the city, and so the need for food was slightly lower, but the need for prayer remained very high.

Russell came by although he needed no food he wanted to say hello. Asked for Deb and Jeep specifically.

One of the parks was fairly slow initially. A woman approached us and asked for two meals for her and her cousin/friend. Two of our team members went over to see the cousin/friend who was unresponsive. With the cousin's approval, we called an ambulance but when it arrived the woman appeared to recover a bit. She had a bad bruise and wound on her face but refused help, the ambulance could not force her to be treated so it left. An officer arrived to investigate and while she too was concerned about the wound, she told us there was nothing we could do. The officer thanked us for calling before leaving.

Prayer notes

- Dawn has been sober four years and has an apartment at the shelter. She’s thankful for housing and being clean. She got beaten up by a friend last week, but will not let that keep her in fear. Realizes the friend may be struggling. Asked for prayer to stay clean and sober, reconciliation with friend, and maintain a sense of gratitude. Loves her apartment.

- Kyle is relatively new on the streets. He was very 'chill' and prayed for luck and asked that God would provide for his needs. He laughed when Sherri mentioned his "go with the flow" attitude and acknowledged "life's ups and downs."

- Donny is in extreme pain; he could barely walk. We asked if he wanted to go to the hospital but he declined; he also declined prayer but did ask for a wheelchair.

- John asked for prayer that he be united with his family.

- Bruins John seems to be losing strength/vitality. Hoping to go back to rehab soon.

- Marci needs safety and housing.

- J.C. needs a place to stay, a job and for the voices in his head to stop.

- Pheona praised God for providing her daily needs. Helping her to see HIs love for her. Praying for housing and ability to resume her career as a PCA.

- Sal continues to grow in the strength and humor of the Lord as he starts his 77th year today.

- Trisha needs protection.

- Kenny was very happy to see us. He said the only time he ever comes out of the house is when we arrive.

Thank you to all those who contribute to LYNN Ministries and make it possible for us to serve the least of these.
