Brockton - August 17, 2025

Here is the update from the LYNN Ministries team at The Fellowship in Easton who served 114 of our friends on Sunday in Brockton.

Sometimes when we are out serving in Brockton, we are overwhelmed by the brokenness we encounter. Sometimes we experience the joy of meeting a specific need and seeing the joyful response of a grateful friend. Other times, one or two encounters speak specifically to us. Today, the ladies on our team prayed with a mom struggling with addiction and recognizing the need for change. They specifically asked God to intervene to rescue Erica out of the bondage of addiction and to provide physical and spiritual protection for her and her children. Erica represents a segment of the population many of us cannot relate to and seldom see. Still, she is beautiful, created in God’s image, and deserving of his love (and therefore ours) - one of the least of these.

Maria is an older woman we found sitting by herself on the curb, eating the beef stew one of our many volunteers prepared. We sat next to her and chatted. Thanks to the interpretive skills of one of our team members, we found that Maria is a grandmother who loves Jesus and loves her family. She lives in a humble government furnished apartment across from the park. Maria suffered a stroke this past year and was in a coma for 3 months, yet her smile and gentle spirit radiates peace. We prayed with Maria and thanked God that she knows and loves her savior. In return, Maria gave us a smile to melt your heart.
