Brockton - August 16, 2026
Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team that served on Sunday (Aug 16).
The late summer sunshine provided a perfect setting for our most recent trip into Brockton. The parks were crowded and the people hungry - for food and for connection. We served 90 hungry, grateful friends a nutritious, delicious meal.
We spent time sharing with our friends, whom society often sees as the least valued and most undesirable, reminding them that they are loved because they are fearfully and wonderfully made - created in God's image, and therefore worthy of His love and ours. Who determines our worth? It cannot be man because time and again we demonstrate that in our fallen state we do not truly understand what it means to be human and what it means to love sacrificially. Yet God, in his perfection, demonstrated true humanity and love through our Savior, Jesus Christ. This is the truth that motivates all of us to live out our faith by being the hands and feet of Jesus - the one who gives each of us worth.
When you prepare a meal, you are being Jesus to the least of these; when you lift up others in prayer, you are being Jesus to the least of these; when you stop, listen, and look into the eyes of those in desperate need, you are being Jesus to the least of these. Please know that through your involvement, LYNN Ministries is declaring to unwanted people that there is a loving God who makes it his business to seek and save the lost - and declare their worth for all eternity!
Here are the specific prayer requests we received on Sunday:
- Ashley asked for prayers for protection for her adult daughter Serenity
- Elijah asked for prayer for his mom in Georgia who has glaucoma
- Wallin is looking for a better-paying job. Most of his income is sent home to his wife and 3 children in Haiti
- Maleek is being admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital to be treated for gallstones
- April needs a home. She is living outdoors
- Hiiki asked for prayers for sobriety
Thank you to Sunday’s team from The Fellowship and all those who helped prepare food and provide comfort to our friends on the streets of Brockton.
