Attleboro - October 11, 2025
Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team at Beacon Covenant Church, Attleboro who served in Attleboro on Saturday.
It was a nice, cloudy fall day to be out doing the Lord’s work, serving our friends in Attleboro. We were blessed to welcome a few new team members this month, Madgy, Nicole, and William. Overall, the mood was good, as the cold weather hasn’t really set in yet.
There is some concern about need in general increasing across the community, as we saw about 50 folks today, the most we’ve seen in quite some time. We ran out of mostly everything, except fruit. We gave away about 15 special orders of things that people had requested last month, and took about another 15 new ones, which is also more than normal. We gave away 3 new tents, and still had 2-3 folks asking for one, indicating the number of people being forced to live outside is on the rise. We hope this is just temporary, as those numbers usually go down from November to March. Please pray for all the folks living outside to find housing.
It was nice to see Patricia and find out that she was all dressed up to get picked up for her great-grandson’s birthday. We pray for our friend Tim, a veteran who has had so many health issues throughout the last few years. We have not seen him in a long time but have heard that his body is not reacting well to his cancer treatments. Below are some individual prayer requests:
Bob – Has been living outside for over 6 months now and really wants to find work. He’s always very appreciative and emotional when we pray for him.
Jim – We had been serving him at the tent site area for over a year. His breathing has gotten much worse, and he’s in a nursing home now.
Geno and Beth – They had found housing a couple of months ago, but are now back outside, living on the streets. Someone had stolen some money and things from them, and they ended up losing their apartment. Pray for steady work, and another chance at regular employment.
James – A newcomer, who we had never seen before, who is now living outside. We were able to give him an extra tent and sleeping bag.
Hollee and Alex – More newcomers to the area, who are living outside. They had ordered a tent, blankets and other provisions last month, and were overjoyed when we were able to provide for them.
Rob – Another newcomer to the Attleboro area, and new to the streets. He’s in a new area that we have to investigate to see how many people are living outside in that location.
Eric and Carrie – They have been struggling with critters at their campsite, and we had to replace their tent and bedding. We were blessed to be able to provide these things to them.
Also living outside are another Bob, George, Ryan, Richard, Amanda, and others already mentioned. Pray that this is only temporary, and that they are all able to find a warm, dry room in which to live.
To all of you who contribute to this ministry in any way, prayer, clothing and camping donations, funding, cooking, serving, please know that all of it is appreciated and needed. Without donations and funding, we could not provide these special orders, or provisions to those who really need them. Thank you!
